The Company was established in 1989 to teach secretarial, business and touch typing skills in both the educational and corporate areas. Gaye Ruse, its founder, is a qualified teacher who taught for many years at St Godric’s College in Hampstead and until recently was Head of Computing and a member of the Senior Management Team at The Hampstead Garden Suburb Institute. She holds an up-to-date Enhanced CRB check.

Typing is now widely recognized as an essential tool for using the computer whether for homework, school essays, projects, letters, reports or the Internet.  Some students may need this skill in order to use a laptop in class and exams or because they have been diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia, poor handwriting, etc

Over the last twenty years hundreds of pupils from a variety of schools in North London and The Hampstead Dyslexia Clinic have successfully learnt to touch type using the unique methods of Ruse Typing.  Since 2002 it has been compulsory for every Year 7 pupil at UCS (University College School) to attend a Touch Typing Course in the school holidays taught by Gaye Ruse.  

The Company also specialises in teaching the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint) as well as E Mail and the Internet to adults, young people, children and the retired. Courses are designed for the absolute beginner through to the more advanced. They may be taken in either small groups of up to five students or on a one-to-one basis and are available during the day, evening and weekend. Classes may be taken at the Client’s home, office or at the Company’s teaching room in East Finchley.
